What's going on?
Congregations throughout the Detroit Region are building an interfaith organization - DRIVE (Detroit Regional Interfaith Voice for Equity)
These members will work together to build a powerful voice on regional and local problems like:
quality public schools, access to good jobs, drugs/crime, mental health services, roads and public transportation, etc.
Where do we start?
Clergy leaders are gathering and training their church and synagogue leaders through our Core Leaders Trainings.
We start with campaigns to build relationships in and around the congregation and between our congregations.
Why? Because to make changes, we will have to be persistent and consistent - and we will have to have strong relationships with each other and in our congregations to "stay the course."
Each congregation's Core Team will conduct a 6-week Listening Campaign to engage members about the issues they care most about.
What's our goal?
D.R.I.V.E. and the Harriet Tubman Center - Connecting Individuals, Institutions and Organizations in the Greater Detroit Metro Area!
Our mission is to build a coalition of clergy, congregations and allies, acting and advocating to create a just, equal and equitable community through congregation-based organizing.
